Using Financial Aid to pay housing fees ...

Prepayments (including private room) are due before financial aid is received Financial aid will automatically be used to pay for any university charges If you have not received your financial aid before the housing payment is due, request a housing extension from Student Financial Aid or Housing.

Deciding on roommates/buildings...

All assignments are made in the order applications, deposits, and prepayments are received. On the application designate 3 building choices. When requesting a specific roommate/suitemate, apply early and at the same time. Roommate/Suitemate should indicate on the application the name and PID#. For specific roommates/suitemates, all students must meet the criteria for the building to be assigned together. If a student doesn't have a specific roommate/suitemate, give a general description of the type of person (i.e., same major, etc.).

All assignments will be mailed 2 to 3 weeks before the semester begins. Check-in will be the Friday and Saturday before classes begin. Your assignment letter will give you the specific check-in date and time.

Your room ...

All residence halls and Legacy Park apartments are SMOKE-FREE facilities. Some things that are necessary when living on campus are linens (including toiletries), an alarm clock, touch-tone phone, and adhesive gum to hang posters. Some things that are not necessary but are helpful are an umbrella, keychain, plastic bucket to carry toiletries to shower, bathrobe, tv/radio for relaxation time, calendar, and items that help make the space feel like home. Students are encouraged to decorate the room any way they would like as long as permanent changes are not made to the space (i.e. no painting, drilling, etc.).

Some items that are NOT allowed in the traditional residence halls are a microwave, pets of any kind, all cooking appliances, candles and incense, and dartboards. In Legacy Park, pets of any king, dartboards, and unauthorized furniture are NOT allowed. Please refer to the Residence Hall/Legacy Park Handbooks for a complete list of acceptable and non-acceptable items.

Checking in ...

Plan to arrive early for your assigned check-in date and time. The staff will be collecting $15 for activity fee. This fee is used to fund special programs in the buildings. Parking is available near the buildings for unloading: however, keep in mind that traffic is heavy at this time. For your heavy items, we suggest you bring a dolly.
