Parking & Transportation

Parking garages and lots are available near our residence halls. UL residents have to be registered with parking and transit office before they are eligible to park on campus. If the student is not registered with the Office of Transportation Services they will be subject to fines.

As an on-campus resident, where do I park?

All residents that are living on campus must park in their specified zone near their residence. If you are living in Huger Hall you must be registered and can only park in Olivier parking tower, which is located at the parking and transit building. For residents that are living in Baker Hall, you can park in Taft Street parking garage. Legacy Park has the only on campus apartments for UL and you must be registered with Transportation Services in order to park in Legacy Park. Furthermore, Legacy Park apartments are restricted by gate access, so all residents who stay there must have their Cajun Card activated for the gates to function properly.

How much is a permit?

The cost is set every fall by the Office of Transportation Services. Residents can go to ULink to register their vehicle with the Transportation Services.

The transit system consists of buses that transport students to and from campus. Buses run continuously from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The number of buses running at any given time is proportional to the demand.

There is also a night shuttle that runs from Bourgeois Hall to the main campus.
