Director of Residential Life

The Director of Residential Life oversees the overall function of the department including strategic planning, leadership, staffing, department budgets and provides educational and administrative leadership along with having the oversight of the Area Coordinators. The Director of Residential Life reports directly to the Dean of Students.

Area Coordinators

The Area Coordinator position is an on-campus, live-in position and serves a role model, a facilitator, a leader, and contributes to the departmental mission to coordinate services and efforts toward the creation and implementation of inclusive and supportive communities that foster and enhance students’ learning, development, and academic success.

Graduate Assistant - Living Learning Communities

The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Living Learning Communities works directly with the Office of First Year Experience as well as the Office of Residential Life in the planning, delivery, and execution of living learning community programming and academic retention. The GA also assist with ongoing Residential Life initiatives such as ambassador areas, training, and special projects. The Graduate Assistant reports directly to the Associate Director of First Year Experience and indirectly to the Rose Garden Area Coordinator.

Resident Assistants (RAs)

Resident Assistants, commonly knowns as RAs, have the largest impact on achieving this goal through their interactions in the residence halls. RAs are responsible for getting to know the people in their communities, providing them with support, promoting a safe and comfortable living environment for all students, planning activities to help students grow and connect, directing them to resources that will improve their success, and otherwise enhancing the experience of living on campus.
