Emotional Support Animals

The University has a policy that governs all animals on our campus. This policy can be found at the following link:

The Office of University Housing handles all requests for Emotional Support Animals (ESA) and ESAs cannot be brought into campus housing until approved by the ESA committee. You can find the ESA Request form in the StarRez Housing Portal. To get to the form, log into ULINK, click on Campus Services, select StarRez Housing Portal, and then click Housing Forms. The appropriate documents along with an explanation of the process will be sent to you via email. If you have any questions, email

Please note the following deadlines for application:

  • Fall Semester Deadline: August 10th
  • Mid Semester Deadline: October 10th               
  • Spring Semester Deadline: January 10th
  • Mid Semester Deadline: March 10th
  • Summer Semester: May 10th

NOTE: All Emotional Support Animals must be at least 1 year old and up to date on all their shots. All requests must be approved by a licensed Mental Health Professional. Emotional Support Animals are not authorized in residential buildings until approved. ESAs are not approved until the resident is emailed with the decision from the ESA committee.
