Move In Instructions

We cannot wait to welcome you to campus soon! We have been preparing all summer to get our communities ready for you. Please read this page in its entirety so the process will move as smoothly as possible. Don't forget to print your Move In Ticket and bring that with you to your scheduled appointment time.

First-Time Freshmen Move-In Process

  1. Print your QR Code/Parking Pass: only two copies are allowed per student. Duplicating or sharing your parking passes will delay your move-in. These are unique to your appointment and room.
    • You can bring up to 2 vehicles to the unloading area and each vehicle should have a copy of the QR Code/Parking Pass. We will verify these at check-in.
  2. Confirm your move in appointment time: The Housing Office will be sending an email to confirm your appointment times. Make sure to only show up during your appointment time.
  3. Check-in:
    • When entering town via I-10, turn onto University Avenue. You will turn on to St. Landry Street to check-in at our Health Scienes Campus at 611 St. Landry St.
    • All First-Time Freshmen students living in residence halls will check in at the Health Sciences Campus.
  4. Make your way to your unloading zone:
    • Coronna, Bonin, and Harris: Turn right onto St. Mary Blvd. and drive toward Johnston St. Stay in the left lane after you cross Johnston St. Turn left on Hebrard Blvd. and then right on Boucher Street into the unloading area.
      • E. St. Mary Blvd. will be contraflowed for move-in. Follow ULPD officier's directions along E. St. Mary Blvd.
      • Once in the unloading area, park diagonally along Boucher Street to unload
    • Baker: turn right onto St. Mary Blvd. and drive toward Johnston St. Stay in the right lane after you cross Johnston St. Turn left on McKinley St. and then right on Tulane Ave. Turn into the Hamilton Hall lot for unloading
      • E. St. Mary Blvd. will be contraflowed for move-in. Follow ULPD officier's directions along E. St. Mary Blvd.
      • Unloading zone is in the Hamilton Hall lot as well as Olivier Parking Tower
    • Agnes Edwards: turn left on St. Mary Blvd., then left on St. Landry St., left on St. Julien St., left on Johnston St. and right on E. Lewis St. Then turn left onto Rex St and park in front of the hall for unloading
      • Rex Street will be reversed for August 17 and 18 move-in days.
      • There is construction on the E. Lewis St. bridge near The Heritage Apartments, but this will be opened for Move-In weekend.
      • Unloading zone is on the left side of Rex Street
  5. Unload your belongings
    • Residents can begin the unloading process. Remember that you have 20 minutes to unload. After that, you should then move your car to your designated parking area.
    • You will only be allowed to have 2 vehicles in the unloading areas and someone should stay with the car at all times.
    • Note that the elevators will only be used to transport residents' belongings to their floor. Residents and their helpers will have to take the stairs to get to their room.
    • Please be courteous to other Ragin' Cajuns and move your car as soon as you are done unloading.
  6. Move the resident's car to its designated parking area (only cars with parking permits should park in the student parking areas)
    • Coronna and Bonin Halls: Taft Parking Tower
    • Baker and Huger Halls: Olivier Parking Tower 
    • Agnes Edwards Hall: Girard Parking Tower/Griffin Hall lot/lot behind Cajun Village Apartments
    • Any parents/family/extra cars should park in Girard Parking Tower and the lot behind Cajun Village Apartments
  7. Return to your room and start unpacking and decorating
    • Make sure to snap a picture of your finished decorated room and share and tag us on social media.

Continuing Students Move-In Process

  1. Print your QR Code/Parking Pass: only two copies are allowed per student. Duplicating or sharing your parking passes will delay your move-in. These are unique to your appointment and room.
    • You can bring up to 2 vehicles to the unloading area and each vehicle should have a copy of the QR Code/Parking Pass. We will verify these at check-in.
  2. Confirm your move in appointment time: The Housing Office will be sending an email to confirm your appointment times. Make sure to only show up during your appointment time.
  3. Check-in: at your building/complex
    • Agnes Edwards Hall: first floor lobby
    • Huger Hall: lobby
    • Legacy Park Apartments: office located at E.A. Martin
    • The Heritage Apartments: the Clubhouse located at Building 2
  4. Unload your belongings
    • Residents can begin the unloading process. Remember that you have 20 minutes to unload. After that, you should then move your car to your designated parking area.
    • You will only be allowed to have 2 vehicles in the unloading areas and someone should stay with the car at all times.
    • Please be courteous to other Ragin' Cajuns and move your car as soon as you are done unloading.
    • Boxes on wheels will be available but no volunteers will be at continuing student move-in
  5. Move the resident's car to its designated parking area (only cars with parking permits should park in the student parking areas)
    • Agnes Edwards Hall: Taft Parking Tower
    • Huger Halls: Olivier Parking Tower 
    • Legacy Park Apartments:
    • The Heritage Apartments
    • Any parents/family/extra cars should park in Girard Parking Tower and the lot behind Cajun Village Apartments
  6. Return to your room and start unpacking and decorating
