Wingate by Wyndham Hotel

Thank you for choosing University Housing for the upcoming academic year. Due to the high demand for campus housing, the University has partnered with a local hotel near campus to provide a comfortable and convenient living arrangement for those awaiting housing assignments. The entire hotel property is reserved for UL Lafayette students only and will function as an extension of campus residence halls. Staff from the Office of University Housing & Residential Life along with live-in Resident Assistants (RAs) will offer social and educational programming.

The University has worked to ensure these accommodations offer a welcoming and safe environment for you to live, learn, and succeed.

Cost

  • If you have any questions about financial assistance, please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at (337) 482-6506 or finaid@louisiana.edu.
  • A meal plan is not required for students residing at the hotel. Optional meal plans are available for purchase. Find pricing for all meal plans here. To change or have your meal plan removed from your account, email campusfoodservices@louisiana.edu.
  • The cost of laundry is not included at this location, but coin-operated machines are available on the third floor for residents to use.

Parking/Transportation

  • Daily shuttle service to and from the University is provided by UL Lafayette’s Office of Transportation Services (7 a.m. - 10 p.m.). A shuttle should arrive every 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Since parking is limited onsite, the Office of Transportation Services will be conducting a lottery for parking permits at the hotel. The deadline to sign up for the lottery has passed.
  • If you are not selected for the lottery, you will have the option to get a permit for the Health Sciences Garage at 611 St. Landry St.
    • The Health Sciences Garage will be part of the hotel shuttle route.
  • All vehicles must have an active parking permit to park at the hotel or on campus.
  • Only vehicles with an active permit will be allowed to park at the hotel or Health Sciences Garage depending on the permit. Unregistered vehicles will be cited and/or towed from the hotel and neighboring businesses.
  • The Office of Transportation Services utilizes license plate recognition instead of issuing physical permits so you should pull in to all spots so your license plate is visible to the plate reader. Failure to do this will result in a citation.

Staffing and Security

  • RAs will be living in the building with students to replicate a campus living environment.
  • Security is provided by the UL Lafayette Police Department through regular patrols.
  • There will be 24/7 coverage of the front desk and card access will be required to enter the building after hours.
  • Night guards will be stationed at the hotels daily from midnight until 8 a.m.

Miscellaneous

  • Bedroom and bathroom linens (sheets, bedspread, bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths) will be provided for residents and changed weekly during room cleaning.
  • This will be your assignment throughout the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. We will be able to move some students from the hotel to campus, if spaces become available
  • This property is an extension of University Housing and will operate as a campus facility. Any questions regarding this assignment should be directed to the Office of University Housing at (337) 482-6471 or oncampusliving@louisiana.edu. The hotel staff cannot conduct tours or answer any questions about your living situation.
  • Students will be required to abide by the terms and conditions of the Code of Student Conduct and all rules and policies of the Office of University Housing & Residential Life, and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities while residing in any facility operated by University Housing.
