Satellite Locations Move-In 2024
We are thrilled you are living with us this year! Please read this page in its entirety so the process will move as smoothly as possible. Don't forget to print your Move-In Ticket and bring that with you to your scheduled appointment time. Make sure to review What to Bring and What Not to Bring for these satellite locations. We also have photos and videos of the rooms at these locations on our website: Wingate and WoodSpring.
First-Time Freshmen Move-In is scheduled for August 17 and 18, 2024, by appointment only.
FTF Move-In Map
Upperclassmen Move-In is scheduled from August 21 - 24, 2024, by appointment only.
UC Move-In Map
Appointments will close on Thursday, August 15, 2024. If you haven't booked a move-in appointment, log back into the housing portal to schedule one.
How to Access Your Move-In Ticket Parking Pass
- Log into the Housing Portal
- Click on the "My Information" button
- Click on "My Move-In Info"
- Verify your appointment and confirm your booking
- Click "Print This Page"
You can print up to 2 copies of the Move-In Ticket/Parking Pass per resident. Duplicating or sharing your parking passes will delay your move-in. These are unique to your appointment and room. We will verify these at check-in.
Move-In Process
- Confirm your move-in appointment time: You can see your move-in appointment under " My Account Info" in the Housing Portal. Confirm your day and time and make sure to only show up for your scheduled time.

Proceed to your assigned location's lobby to receive your key:
- Wingate: 702 E Kaliste Saloom Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508
- WoodSpring: 200 Hugh Wallis Rd S, Lafayette, LA 70508

Make your way to your unloading zone: click your area to see the unloading map. Residents should park in a parking spot at the location to unload.
- Wingate: Residents should enter at the second entrance off Kaliste Saloom Rd. to prevent traffic backup.
- WoodSpring: The entrance is on the right side of the complex (when looking at the building). The left side is exit only.

Unload your belongings
- Residents can begin the unloading process. Remember that you have 20 minutes to unload.
- You will only be allowed to have 2 vehicles.
- Do NOT bring UHauls, box trucks, oversized vans/trucks, or trailers. They will not be accommodated and will not fit in the unloading areas.
- Please be courteous to other Ragin' Cajuns and move your car as soon as you are done unloading.

Move cars to designated parking areas for Move-In Days only:

Wingate
- For August 17 and 18 ONLY. After you are done unloading, you should move your car to the parking area across Rosemary Pl. road (directly across from the lobby)If your car is still parked here after FTF Move-In Weekend, it could be towed at your expense. Please move your car to its designated parking permit area by Monday, August 19.
- For August 21 - 24 ONLY. Students with a scheduled move-in can park at the location that day. After that day, the resident must move their car to their assigned parking permit area.

WoodSpring
- After you are done unloading, please move your car to the back of the complex to allow other students the ability to unload in the front area.
- You must move your car to its designated parking permit area the day after your scheduled move-in appointment. Any cars without permits parking at the hotel will be cited/fined.

Return to your room and start unpacking and decorating
- Make sure to snap a picture of your finished decorated room and share and tag us on social media.
What to Bring
- Bedroom linens are provided and cleaned during weekly housekeeping. Students may bring other bedroom linens (like blankets) if they want but are responsible for cleaning them
- Storage containers
- High-efficiency laundry detergent (the pods work great!) and dryer sheets
- Hygiene and grooming products (soap, shampoo, deodorant, hair dryer, curler or straightener, shaver, etc.)
- Laundry baskets (find one with wheels)

Items for hanging decor
- Wingate: white sticky tack or Command Strips ONLY
- WoodSpring: push pins or tacks ONLY
- Plunger
- Toiletries
- Cleaning supplies: broom, mop, dust pan, Clorox wipes, small vacuum
- Laptop and printer with a wired connection (though there are computer labs across campus)
- Reusable dishes, cups, and utensils
- Power strips
- Collapsible rolling cart: usual to help with move in and move out but also to help bring groceries and supplies to and from building to vehicle
- Thermometer and other typical medical supplies like bandaids, Tylenol, etc.
- Hand sanitizers
Items allowed as long as they are properly cleaned and stored:
- Air fryers
- Beverage and coffee makers, like a Keurig, with an automatic shut-off
- Slow cookers with an automatic shut-off
- Rice cookers
- Air freshener plug-ins (i.e., Wallflowers)
What Not to Bring
- Pets of any kind (even fishbowls!)
- Wi-fi routers (you will be charged a $200 fine every time you're caught using one!)
- Pull-up bars
- Candles or incense
- Window air conditioners
- Candle or wax warmers
- Coffee makers without an automatic shut-off
- Space heaters, electric heating blankets
- Any item from the IT Department's Problematic Device list - including wireless printers (bring one with a connection cord, the printer can't connect to the WiFi)
- Hoverboards (campus-wide policy)
- Vape, tobacco, or alcohol, including empty alcohol bottles (campus-wide policy)
- Exposed heating elements like toasters, toaster ovens, convection ovens, etc. (if it gets red, it’s a no-no)
- Weapons (campus-wide policy)
Other Move-In Rules

Decorations: You should decorate your room as you want but please note the rules for each location:
- Wingate: Command Strips and sticky tack ONLY (no tacks or nails) and you may not remove the paintings already in the room.
- WoodSpring: small push pins or tacks ONLY (no nails or Command Strips/sticky tack) and you may not remove the painting already in the room.
- Do NOT bring a U-Haul, box truck, oversized van, or trailer: They will not be accommodated on move-in day and will not fit in the unloading areas.
- HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE: Temperatures are expected to be close to 100 degrees during move-in this year. Please stay hydrated during the day. Complimentary water will be available in all areas.
- Review the "What Not To Bring" list on our website: Find this on our Move-In Central and do not bring anything on this list. If you are caught with any of these items, you will be fined.
- Complete your room inventory and roommate agreement: You will receive both of these items within a few days of move-in.
- Report any issues to your RA/CA, Area Coordinator, or Property Manager: You should notify them as soon as possible. If the issue is maintenance-related, you can submit a work order request on the Housing Portal.
